About Me

I was trained as a gastroenterologist at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I also followed the hepatology programme at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I successfully guided many medical students and followed a leadership programme during my residency and gained more management skills after following a management development course after my residency.  I started in 2018 as the third gastroenterologist in Horacio Oduber Hospital Aruba with a specific training and interest in advanced endoscopy and  hepatology.

What I Do

Gastroenterolgy and Hepatology

I am an all around gastroenterologist with a specific training in advanced endoscopy and hepatology. I offer daily consultations at my clinic. I have experience in treating liver diseases, motility problems, GI cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, pancreatic problems and small bowel diseases.

Lectures

I am an associate professor of clinical medicine at the Xavier University School of medicine. I have given several lectures on Aruba and Holland. I am a yearly speaker at the DAS clinic on Aruba. Furthermore I give lectures to non-profit organization to raise awareness for GI diseases on the island.

Endoscopy

Several years of experience doing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. We do on a daily base upper and lower GI endoscopy. Furthermore ERCP, PEG placement, EMR, stent placement and small bowel video capsule endoscopy.

Management

Chairman of the gastroenterology group on Aruba. Member of the oncology board and hybrid department. Founder and chairman of fundacion CORESA. This is a non-profit organisation to start colorectal cancer screening on Aruba.
